Alternative emails
Alternative emails are backup addresses you can add to your LoginSign account. They help you regain access if you ever lose access to your primary email or cannot complete sign-in the usual way.
What they are for
- Account recovery: If your main inbox is unavailable, compromised, or you no longer use that address, a verified alternative email gives LoginSign another trusted channel to reach you.
- Redundancy: Many people rely on a single email provider. A second address (for example on a different provider) reduces the risk of being completely locked out.
- Not a replacement for security basics: Alternative emails complement strong passwords, passkeys, and two-factor authentication (2FA). They do not replace them.
Why you should set them up
Without a backup address, recovery options depend entirely on your primary email and any other security factors you have enabled. Adding at least one verified alternative email is one of the simplest ways to make account recovery smoother and less stressful if something goes wrong.
How it works in LoginSign
- Open your Dashboard and the Security section.
- Open Alternative emails and enter the address you want to add.
- We send a verification link to that address. Until you confirm, the address appears as pending and cannot be used for recovery.
- After verification, the address is stored as a linked alternative. You can remove it at any time from the same screen.
Privacy and safety
- Only verified addresses are stored as active alternatives.
- Use addresses you control and check regularly. Avoid shared or work inboxes you might lose access to.
- Treat verification links like passwords: do not forward them or share them.

Tip
Pick an alternative email on a different provider than your primary one (for example, if your main address is on a large consumer provider, use another trusted provider or a family-managed domain). That way a single outage or policy change is less likely to block both addresses at once.
